In Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Where Are the Avengers?

You're not alone if you're playing Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 and wondering where all the other Marvel superheroes are.

While there are two Spider-Men in the PlayStation 5 exclusive to repel Kraven the Hunter, Venom, and all the other nasty villains who take issue with New York, they might use some assistance at times.

Of course, Insomniac Games has limited resources to work with on Spider-Man 2. Sony licenses the usage of Spider-Man characters for the game,

which is a tightly controlled and expensive process. Throwing in the Avengers, for example, is simply unrealistic.

Some fans, however, have expressed concern about the lack of superheroes in Insomniac's New York. It's not specifically addressed in Spider-Man 2, although there was a recent comic book reference to Insomniac's superhuman problem.

In issue five of Spider-Man Unlimited Infinity, a comic series unique to the digital Marvel Unlimited membership,

two Spider-Men from different universes make a fairly depressing revelation. 616 Spider-Man asks Insomniac's Peter Parker in the comic

How many superheroes are there in your Manhatten?" "Regularly? Maybe a half-dozen. "Do you have any more?" "Just a tad."
